Although fundraising is not the primary goal of the PTA, it is a part of what we do to help support all of the great programs we continue to offer the children of Greenvale.  Please take a moment and enroll in these programs.
 
CASH FOR SCHOOL PROGRAMS:
 


Please keep clipping your Box Tops; we have several submissions throughout the year.
Please put Box Tops in an envelope or Ziploc bag with your teacher's name on it. (The class with the most Box Tops will get an ice pop party.) Our school earns $.10 per Box Top sent in and the money raised directly supports our Cultural Arts programs and assemblies.

Help Your School Earn Free Supplies via Office Depot!

This unique program for schools can not only benefit your school now, but help keep them in free supplies all year long. All you need to do is make a qualifying purchase at Office Depot and present your school's 5% Back to Schools program ID - and we'll take care of the rest.

How Does It Work?

  • Shop at Office Depot for all of your school and office supplies
  • Present your school's 5% Back To Schools ID number when you shop online, over the phone or at your neighborhood Office Depot store.
  • Office Depot will offer your school credits equal to 5% of the qualifying purchases in the form of an Office Depot Merchandise Card that can be used towards FREE supplies!

Through funds raised, the PTA has been able to support the following: 

  • an amazing Cultural Arts program which includes the following and is not limited to:
    • Fund the Colonial Day Fair for 4th Grade in it’s entirety
    • Fund International Day for 3rd Grade in its entirety
    • Fund the Grasslands Festival for 5th Grade in its entirety
    • Fund Dancing with the Honeybees for 2nd Grade in its entirety
    • Subsidize the 5th Grade Package which includes going to Broadway
    • Fund the ‘Behind the Scenes’ in-school Broadway experience for 5th grade in its entirety
    • subsidizes the cost of field trips
    • Provide many assemblies for the entire school as well as grade specific assemblies. Scheduled so far are:

      • Arm of the Sea (entire school)
      • Author visit – (entire school)
      • Brucemobile – 2nd grade
      • Ted Scheu – 2nd grade

      • Artist in Resident – 3rd grade
      • China Patterns – 3rd grade
      • Ted Scheu – 4th grade
      • American Revolution presentation – 4th grade
      • Artist in Resident – 5th grade
  • provided agenda books for every student
  • provided the library and our reading specialists with books, with monies raised at the Book Fair (One for Books and the raffle)
  • offers Mini-Grants to faculty members: currently awarded funds to cover 80% of costs to sponsor three teachers to attend the AGATE conference. More grants are being reviewed by our Mini Grant Committee.
  • Health & Safety: 
    • provide 250 containers of anti-bacterial hand wipes to be dispersed to all classrooms
    • Provide our school nurse with undergarments for the Clothing Bank, in the event the children require a change of clothing due to accidental spills etc.
  • Family Events: Though some are noted as income generating on the budget, through various fundraising campaigns we are able to offer these family events at no charge to those in attendance or even at a minimal fee.
    • Harvest Festival
    • Movie Night
    • BINGO Fun
    • Math Night
  • Guest Speakers at PTA meetings

  

And much more ….

 

 

Through all of these events, we are also providing a sense of community amongst the parents and among the children.  In the spirit of community building please consider volunteering your time to help run these events that are scheduled throughout the school year. Whether it is only an hour of your time or a more regular volunteer schedule, your help is always welcome and appreciated. Remember, your involvement directly benefits EVERY child, not just your own.
